Veigar, The Tiny Master of Evil, is cackling his way into League of Legends: Wild Rift soon and will be available as an unlockable champion.

In anticipation of the champion’s release, it’s worth offering fans a quick rundown of how Veigar works, what can be learned from him in League of Legends, and how to unlock him. With this guide, it won’t be hard to one-shot opponents on the rift.

Veigar, The Tiny Master of Evil

Veigar is a scaling control mage focused on accumulating ludicrous amounts of AP before blowing his opponents up with a few spells in the late game. His weak early game and vulnerability to aggressive picks, jungle ganks and other interference means Veigar players need to be patient throughout the early and midgame.

Veigar’s unique mechanic is gaining flat ability power for killing minions and striking enemy champions with abilities. This is what enables him to unleash staggering damage with a single spell in the later stages of a game.

Challenges for unlocking Veigar in LoL: Wild Rift

Veigar’s unlock event begins October 15 and runs to October 20. Veigar’s arrival to Wild Rift brings with it 12 new missions that give you in-game rewards. If you can complete all but one of the missions, you’ll unlock Veigar without having to pay for him with in-game currency.

The milestones and rewards to unlock Veigar

The vast majority of the missions are simple achievements for you to have as a soft-focus while playing your games. From slaying the elder dragon, claiming Baron Nashor, or earning 30,000 gold, none require anything outside of a normal Wild Rift game.

Once you’ve unlocked Veigar, you’ll also have the chance to unlock a pose chest. Veigar’s slow, low-mobility style of control allows him to dump truckloads of damage onto the enemy team. He’s best used to discourage the enemy from engaging into you with his cage and controlling the pacing of a fight.

Should the enemy engage a fight anyhow, Veigar can blow them up before the stun even wears off. Best of luck out there, evildoers.
