The Razor Fang and Razor Claw are important evolution items in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining pearl, but can you get them in the early game?

For better or worse, Pokemon BDSP follows in the footsteps of the original Diamond and Pearl. This makes for a refreshingly challenging experience relative to other recent Pokemon games, but it also makes things team-building fairly rigid.

Gligar and Sneasel are both Pokemon that can comfortably fit into many lineups thanks to their unique typings and powerful offense. Unfortunately, evolving them into Gliscor and Weavile is a bit of an ordeal. Here’s how to get a Razor Claw and Razor Fang in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

How to get and use a Razor Claw in Pokemon BDSP

In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you can get a Razor Claw by finding it on the ground in Victory Road.

Getting the item is an ordeal that requires a long walk and many trainer battles. Weavile fans and those looking to complete their Pokedex will ultimately need to endure.

Once players have a Razor Claw, they can use it to evolve Sneasel by equipping it to Sneasel and leveling it up at night. In battle, it can be equipped by any Pokemon to increase their chance of landing a critical hit.

How to get and use a Razor Fang in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Players can get a Razor Fang in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl by going to the Battle Park and picking it up off the ground. Another Razor Fang can be found in the southeastern part of Route 224 by surfing away from the beach.

While the Razor Claw can be found during the later stages of the main game, the Razor Fang is only obtainable in the post-game. Players will need to defeat Cynthia and the Elite Four in order to get it, but a National Dex isn’t necessary to find one.

The only use for a Razor Fang in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is evolving Gligar to Gliscor. Players can use the Razor Fang as a Held Item on Gligar, then level it up at night to activate evolution. Outside of that, Razor Fang is used in battle to give every attack a 10% chance to make opponents flinch.

Can you get Razor Fang or Razor Claw in the Pokemon BDSP early game?

There is no way to get a Razor Fang or Razor Claw in the early game except by trading for it.

While Gliscor and Weavile can be a worthwhile addition to many teams, players will have to make it to the end without one. Razor Claw is exclusively available in the late game while Razor Fang is locked in the post-game, meaning players will need to either use the unevolved forms or look elsewhere.

All shiny Pokémon available in Pokémon GO in 2026 Pokemon
All shiny Pokémon available in Pokémon GO in 2026 Zachary Roberts Getting a shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO is an absolute treat. It's not as easy to hunt certain things on that game as it is on something like Legends: Z-A or Scarlet and Violet, but you can endlessly play by walking around. The shiny odds are much higher, too. At 1/512 base odds, it's much more likely than in a mainline game, where the odds are 1/4096. If you're interested ...
Recent Pokémon sales prove nostalgia is still king Pokemon
Recent Pokémon sales prove nostalgia is still king Zachary Roberts To celebrate the 30th anniversary, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen were brought to the Nintendo Switch (and Switch 2) library. This came a little over a week before Pokémon Pokopia dropped. The former is a decades-old game, and the latter is a brand-new title unlike anything in the franchise. Additionally, it's a real Game of the Year contender. Yet, early sales reports indicate that the two are selling very similarly. FireRed ...
