Eevee in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Players can catch Eevee very early on in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be easy.

Eevee has always been a sought-after Pokemon. Its cuteness has made it a fan favorite throughout Pokemon’s 25-year history, and the various evolution options make it an option for plugging any holes in a party.

But here, players don’t need to use Eevee plug a hole in a lineup. With enough dedication, players can have a full lineup of Eevee evolutions to use for almost the entirety of Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

This is easier said than done, however. Catching Eevee is tricky and the Pokemon can only be found in one spot. Here’s how to get Eevees and how to evolve them into the desired Eeveelution.

Where to catch Eevee in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Players can catch Eevee in Pokemon Legends: Arceus in the Horseshoe Plains area of the Obsidian Fieldlands.

This area can be found directly east of the first camp that players visit. In this area, players can find a mix of Bidoof and Eevee during the daytime or Bidoof, Drifloon, and Eevee at night. Shinx spawns are too far north, Ponyta spawns are too far east, and Buizel spawns are too far south.

Eevees can be found in this central portion of the Horseshoe Plains. If none can be found, players should catch or defeat any Bidoof in the area, return to camp, and then take a rest to reset the spawns. This will allow different Pokemon to spawn, giving another Eevee the chance to appear on the map.

Once an Eevee can be found, players need to catch it without initiating battle. The best way to do this is using an Oran Berry to lure it to a specific spot, moving behind it, and hitting it with a Poke Ball. If the player is detected, the Eevee will flee. If the player tries to initiate battle, the Eevee will run away on the first turn and disappear.

Even if the player manages to hit an Eevee by surprise from behind, it can still break free. It’s recommended to use the best Poke Balls types available when trying to catch an Eevee.

How to evolve Eevee in Legends: Arceus

In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Eevee can be evolved by the use of evolution stones or after reaching a certain level of affection.

As in Pokemon Sword and Shield, Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Glaceon, and Leafeon can all be obtained by using the appropriate elemental evolutionary stone. Players have access to evolution stones very early in the game, which are farmable through the Jubilife Village trading post using Merit Points. Merit Points are obtained by finding lost satchels out in the wild. Evolution stones also have a chance to be dropped from sparkling Tumblestone veins.

Players can evolve Eevee into Umbreon, Espeon, or Sylveon after reaching a certain level of affection. Eevee gains affection by spending time in the party and winning battles without being knocked out. After an Eevee reaches an appropriate level of affection to evolve, the player will be notified on the left side of the screen and an alert will show on the party menu.

If the Eevee knows a fairy-type move and is evolved through the menu, it will evolve into a Sylveon. If it does not know a fairy-type move, it will evolve into either an Espeon or Umbreon, with the trainer getting Espeon if they evolve Eevee during the day or Umbreon if they evolve Eevee at night.

Alongside this, some Eeveelutions can be encountered as alpha Pokemon. Sylveon and Leafeon can be found as a normal spawn, and the Pokemon Legends: Arceus post-game offers players the opportunity to encounter alpha Eevees in the Obsidian Fieldlands.
