How and where to pre-order The Sims 5 before it releases

The Sims 5 is officially in development, leaving Sims fans around the world desperate for more information on the highly anticipated new entry in The Sims series. Some Sims players are wondering if it’s already possible to pre-order The Sims 5.

Rumors have been swirling about the newest Sims game for years, especially once developers confirmed that The Sims 5 is in production. Unfortunately for legions of excited fans, the team behind EA’s hit simulation game has yet to share much information about The Sims 5. The game’s release date is still a mystery, as are most of its intended new features.

When is The Sims 5 coming out?

There is currently no firm release date for The Sims 5. Some believe it could be released as early as 2022 due to the immense amount of job listings posted for the upcoming game. But with so little information about The Sims 5 coming out from its publisher, it’s most likely not releasing any time soon. The community is still waiting for an official trailer as well as more in-depth information about gameplay.

What systems will The Sims 5 be for?

With the release date for The Sims 5 possibly far out, there has been no hard information from developers about which platforms fans can play the new game on. It will most likely be available on the PC at the very least, before later coming out for PlayStation and Xbox. It’s unknown if a full version will be available for the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo has yet to comment on a possible Switch port for The Sims 5.

Can you pre-order The Sims 5 yet?

Due to the unknown release date of The Sims 5, pre-orders are currently unavailable. Some sites have shared The Sims 5 pre-order opportunities, but these are not official pre-orders and as such should be avoided until pre-orders are announced by The Sims 5’s publisher.

How to pre-order The Sims 5

When pre-orders are announced for The Sims 5, fans will need to pre-order the game on the desired platform they will be playing on. If you’re playing on PC, you’ll be able to pre-order The Sims 5 through the EA site or Steam. If you are planning to play on Xbox, you can pre-order The Sims 5 on the Microsoft Store app on your console. PlayStation players can pre-order The Sims 5 on the PlayStation Store. If The Sims 5 comes out for Nintendo Switch, you can pre-order on the Nintendo eShop.

Physical copies will also be available to pre-order through Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, and other large retailers.
