Queenly Majesty is potentially one of the strongest abilities in Pokemon today, but how can Tsareena get it?

At present, Tsareena is the sole Pokemon that has this ability. At face value, it’s one of the most powerful abilities in the game, negating priority moves such as Quick Attack and Protect. Queenly Majesty also protects the user and its allies from attacks given priority from other abilities such as Prankster and Gale Wings. This can completely shut down Pokemon that use these abilities, and guarantees high-speed allies can get the most out of their builds.

The trouble is that Tsareena isn’t guaranteed to have the Queenly Majesty ability. So how do players get a Queenly Majesty Tsareena? And can they change a Tsareena to have it?

How to get a Tsareena with Queenly Majesty

Players can get a Tsareena with Queenly Majesty by evolving a Steenee with the Oblivious ability.

Queenly Majesty is one of three possible abilities for Tsareena. If a Steenee has either Leaf Guard or Sweet Veil, those abilities will be carried forward to Tsareena. Oblivious is the only ability that will be converted to Queenly Majesty. The good news is that if a player has a Tsareena or Steenee with the improper ability, they can change it.

Ability Capsules are items there were introduced in generation six that allow players to change a Pokemon’s ability, assuming they have a regular ability and the Pokemon species has two regular abilities. Using an Ability Capsule on a Tsareena with the Leaf Guard ability will replace Leaf Guard with Queenly Majesty.

On the flipside, if the Pokemon knows Sweet Veil it requires the use of an Ability Patch. These items can only be found in the Pokemon Sword and Shield: Crown Tundra DLC in the Max Lair’s shop.

All this said, unless the player is deeply attached to a specific Tsareena, there’s no need to use these expensive items to get the Queenly Majesty ability. Players have a very strong chance of getting a Tsareena with the ability by catching it in the Wild Area, or by just evolving a Steenee with Oblivious.

What is the weakness of Tsareena?

Tsareena is weak to ice, fire, flying, bug, and poison attacks.

Though one might expect Tsareena to be a fighting-type Pokemon due to her emphasis on kicks, Tsareena is actually a pure grass Pokemon. Alongside Tsareena’s assortment of weaknesses, she also has a very limited move pool. She lacks moves like Close Combat, Wood Hammer, and Knock-Off that one would expect from a Pokemon like her.

She’s not completely feeble, with interesting options such as Trop Kick, High Jump Kick, Play Rough, and U-Turn. Alongside the Ultra Beast Pheromosa and Weavile, she’s one of the best users of Triple Axel. She can also be a solid Dynamax option in both single and double play with Bounce and access to Grassy Glide.

Given Tsareena’s Queenly Majesty ability and moveset, she’s a decent option as an Assault Vest user in double battles.
