Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Wave 3 is coming and fans have an idea of the release date for it.

Earlier this year, Nintendo announced the Booster Course Pass, which includes 48 new tracks for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The new tracks were split into waves, each containing six, with each one boasting a mix of courses from older games and brand-new ones. In the September 13 Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Wave 3 is finally on the way.

The Nintendo Direct brought some good news for fans of the iconic Nintendo racing series. After months of speculation about upcoming courses, racers have been given a glimpse at what’s to come.

What tracks are coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in Wave 3?

The first confirmed track coming in Wave 3 is Merry Mountain from Mario Kart Tour. It features hilly roads coated in powdery snow as well as festive holiday lights strung across houses and yards, as well as other feel-good elements like sleighs and gifts.

The second track coming in Wave 3 is Peach Gardens, originally from Mario Kart DS. This classic course features the perfectly manicured landscape at Peach’s castle, with colorful spring flowers in bloom.

This means there are still four mystery courses coming in Wave 3. A leaker has previously dug up some possible information on upcoming tracks but the tracks making up the two incoming cups are still unknown.

When is Wave 3 coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?

Wave 3 is coming out in the 2022 holiday season.

This makes Merry Mountain especially appropriate thanks to its holiday decorations and cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately, however, the Nintendo Direct didn’t give more specific dates. For now, fans will have to wait until November or December to experience Wave 3.

The wave release pattern for the Booster Course Pass has left Nintendo fans a bit confused over the past few months. It’s been unclear what the timing truly is for each wave’s release.

The Nintendo Direct did give a bit of a hint on the spacing, however. In small letters at the end of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe announcement, it can be read that six courses will be released over six waves “by the end of 2023.” This means that the waves will be dropping throughout the entirety of 2023 instead of ending near the start of next year, as previously believed.
