GuardiaN has put his AWP up for auction after eight years
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive sharp-shooter Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács is retiring his AWP Asiimov after eight years, and it’s being auctioned on a skin website.
On April 25, GuardiaN listed his iconic AWP, which he used between 2014 and 2022, on a skin website called Buff. The Field Tested AWP has a 0.276874 float and features three different GuardiaN stickers. Even more importantly, it was used by GuardiaN, an AWPer that formerly competed with Natus Vincere and FaZe Clan.
To add this important weapon to your collection, you may need to shell out some serious cash.
How much is GuardiaN’s AWP Asiimov?
GuardiaN’s special weapon has a starting price of $1,400.
But only time will tell how much this iconic weapon, which GuardiaN used in multiple CSGO majors, will ultimately sell for. That truly depends on how desirable it is and how hard fans fight each other for it.
This AWP Asiimov has been with GuardiaN while he was playing with Na’Vi and FaZe from 2013 and 2019, including when he won ESL One New York in 2016, ESL One New York in 2017, IEM Sydney in 2018, and Eleague Boston Major later that year.
Is GuardiaN retiring from pro CSGO?
With GuardiaN selling such an important weapon, many in the CSGO community are wondering if this spells the end of competitive play for the sniper.
GuardiaN has been inactive from the pro scene since 2022. He also isn’t very active on social media. It’s possible that he’s retiring from pro play at this point despite being one of the most successful AWPers in recent years. If that’s true, his iconic weapon will be even more valuable, representing a major part of CSGO’s esports history.
