G2’s Nikola “NiKo” Kovač put up a mighty effort today in G2’s match against Astralis on Dust 2, breaking a 2.0 rating over the course of the map.

One of the world’s best players was everywhere on the classic map, putting up a monstrous 2.08 rating and an average damage per round of 135.1. He simply couldn’t be stopped, and plays like these showed why he’s one of the world’s top performers in any given situation.

NiKo managed his first ace under the G2 banner during the match, and it came on the CT side of Dust 2. It was a solid display of what Niko is capable of given the right situation, and G2 is turning out to be the best situation for the former FaZe Clan captain.

Although G2 ended up losing the match 2-1 against Astralis, that doesn’t mean that fans won’t see more of this type of NiKo performance moving forward. The player seems to be fitting in quite nicely with his cousin Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač and fellow veteran Kenny “KennyS” Schrub. These types of perfomances should continue as NiKo becomes more accustomed to G2’s style moving forward.

The ace wasn’t the only impressive thing about NiKo’s play today, either.

G2 NiKo plays well on Dust 2, then does even more

Overall, NiKo was the highest-rated G2 player across all three maps against Astralis, putting up a total 1.40 rating and an average 99.7 damage per round through the full duration of the three maps. Just check out this clip from the famous Bosian superstar on Inferno where he catches Astralis out and completes the one versus four.

NiKo is truly is the real deal in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and he’ll continue to stay that way for the foreseeable future. From his timing to his game sense, NiKo should be the player that every CSGO gamer attempts to be: precise, patient, and lethal.
