G2 ardiis shows how Sova can destroy Killjoy’s ultimate on Haven

In a recent match against Team Liquid, G2 esports’ Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks showed that he’s been spending a lot of time mastering Sova’s arrows, and gave aspiring players a great example to follow.

The Grand Final of the Red Bull Homeground tournament saw Team Liquid go up against one of the most prestigious teams in Valorant, G2 Esports. The Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas-led squad swept the title of Homeground champions, and the teamwork that went behind the win was evident throughout the series. 

The match wasn’t one-sided by any stretch as both teams were in a tight-knit fight to win the third map, Haven. In the second-to-last round of the map, the ball was almost in Team Liquid’s court when ardiis pulled out his strategy book to outsmart the opponents. 

G2 Esports had successfully acquired site control, but protecting the Spike was a challenge against five opponents. His teammates played a crucial role in bagging the round win, but ardiis’ use of Sova’s shock bolt against Killjoy ended up the being the round’s highlight. 

Killjoy’s lockdown can be deadly if used correctly. The detainer procures a vast area, making enemies within its range vulnerable. It’s an ideal tool to evacuate a site for defenders. A keen Killjoy ultimate lineup surfaced recently, in which the german agent could restrain everyone in bomb point A.

Team Liquid’s James “Kryptix” Affleck sought the infamous ultimate lineup, but G2’s ardiis knew better. Using Sova’s Shock Bolt, ardiis destroyed the tactical lockdown in a matter of seconds, regaining site control. 

To use this lineup in-game, align yourself with the corner of a rock. Aim up at the windows and place your crosshair in the middle of two windows, as shown in the image. 

Set the arrow to double bounce and shoot it after loading the bar halfway. The bolt will land on top of Killjoy’s ability, instantly destroying it. 

This lineup could come in handy in competitive matches and scrims, as this Killjoy’s ultimate lineup has become a common tactic among the players. If five players are flooding the A site, the lockdown can quickly detain most players, which is why a bypass is essential. Sova’s kit shines on Haven due to his intel-gathering abilities anyway, but his skill to skirt Killjoy’s ultimate makes him the perfect pick for this map. 

How much damage does Sova arrow do? 

Sova’s Shock Bolt can be a menace for agents as one hit is deadly enough to eliminate an injured enemy. However, killing an armoured opponent requires two arrows, as one Shock Bolt deals 90 hp of damage at its maximum.
