After a record-breaking Galactus event that garnered a peak of 15.3 million concurrent players, Epic Games has finally revealed the details about Chapter 2 Season 5. The latest season, titled “Zero Point,” includes new weapons, bars, and significant map changes.

Fortnite’s Season 5 is anything but ordinary. The developer succeeded to break its own record of 12.3 million concurrent players during the Travis Scott concert in April (and the 10.7 million that previously attended the Marshmallow show). The calamitous event hit over 3.4 million viewers on Twitch and YouTube combined, confirmed by the company itself.

Unsurprisingly, the Season 5 updates are just as extraordinary.

Zero Point arena explained

Season 5 of Fortnite will be based on Zero Point, a luminescent ball of energy that forms the Fortnite universe. The Galactus event showcased the battle of Marvel heroes against humongous “devourer of the world” Galactus as he tried to pull the Zero point from the middle of the map to put an end to reality. The world was saved with the help of Marvel heroes, but the reality was changed forever, leading to Fortnite Season 5.

In Season 5, Zero Point is vulnerable. With the ball of energy exposed, Fortnite elevates the bounty system in which the bounty hunters on the map will try to keep the arena stabilized.

“The zero point is exposed, but no one escapes the loop, not on your watch. Join agent jones and the greatest hunters from across realities like the Mandalorian in a chaotic battle that will shape the future of the island,” Fortnite developers said.

Fortnite gold bars

The hunters will be responsible for keeping the vulnerable reality alive by taking on quests and bounties, gathering intel, and partnering up with characters on the Island. Hunters can pay the characters in the form of gold bars that can be earned by collecting bounties. The players can use their hard-earned gold bars to buy weapons from the mythic boss.

Season 5 Battle Pass

Season 5 Battle pass features the famed Star Wars bounty hunter Mandalorian and Baby Yoda. Players who purchase a Battle Pass can unlock game features such as hunter skins. The battle pass includes Menace, the reality’s greatest gladiator, Mancake, the fighting Flapjack, and Mave, a shapeshifting barbarian warrior. More hunters will enter the arena later on.

Changes in the maps

The whole backstory of Season 5 is based on the destruction caused by Galactus that left a lasting impact on Fortnite’s reality. This calamity has also birthed a desert that reflects a crystalline glow. Tilted Towers and Salty Springs have also been merged together now dubbed as “Salty Towers.” The developer is yet to reveal more details about the map changes.

New weapons in Season 5

New weapons in Season 5 are nothing short of extraordinary. The game brings the fierce Dragon Breath Shotgun, the infamous Mandalorian’s Amban sniper rifle, and the Night Hawk into the inventory. The Night Hawk is a unique weapon that allows the player to track the enemies.

Epic Games haven’t revealed the full battle pass yet, but the trailer seems promising. The developer promises that new and better updates are on the way as they are “just getting started.” The players can live the new Fortnite reality by downloading and installing the 15.0 update.
