What is Premier Mode?

Premier mode is a new alternative to regular ranked matches. It is available only to players who have signed up for Prime status.

While regular ranked matches used to start with map selection, in Premier the first phase of the match involves a series of bans. One team bans two maps from the active rotation, the second team bans three more. After this, the first team that banned the maps chooses which of the remaining two will host the match.

Premier operates under the MR12 rule – or Max Rounds 12. In other words, half a match in Premier consists of 12 rounds. The team that wins 13 rounds gets the main victory. If there is a tie after 24 rounds, the teams will go into overtime for 6 additional rounds. The first team to earn 16 wins in the round will win.

Finally, console damage reporting is disabled in Premier mode. Players cannot see through the console how much damage they have dealt to the enemy.

How Does Premier Rank Work?

Premier works on a new CS ranking system: it uses elo points instead of the usual ranks. Player ratings can range from 0 to 35,000 points. In addition, users get access to different leaderboards that show ranking, number, and percentage of wins, and ranking percentage.

What leaderboards are featured in Premier?

  • Rating among friends
  • Worldwide (top 1,000 players)
  • Africa
  • Asia
  • Australia
  • China
  • Europe
  • North America
  • South America

CS2 Rating in Premier Mode

To obtain an initial rating in the game, you must win 10 matches. However, the developers claim that just a good game is not enough to achieve this goal, so they made the task more difficult. The ranking is measured in numbers and is based on the number of victories and defeats. After you complete 10 calibration matches, your rating will change dynamically: victories will increase your rating points, defeats will decrease your rating points. In the CS2 game, every 5000 rating is indicated by a different color and corresponds to the player’s category. There are seven levels in the game, which are separated by colors, ranging from gray (lowest rating) to gold (highest rating).

Rating levels in CS 2:

  • up to 4999 – gray. This category includes beginners who are getting used to the game and learning the mechanics of shooting.
  • from 5000 to 9999 – blue. Players who managed to get used to the game well and realized the competitive spirit of the game.
  • from 10000 to 14999 – dark blue. Experienced players who lack either some aspect of the game to increase their rating or do not have enough time.
  • from 15000 to 19999 – purple. Players who show a good level of shooting and a good understanding of the game.
  • from 20000 to 24999 – pink: Extremely skilled players who can shoot professional e-sports players, but are still far from perfect.
  • from 25000 to 29999 – red: Many e-sportsmen are located on this rating. All players in this range are very skilled players.
  • 30000 and above – gold: The best shooters in the game, some players may consider them cheaters. However, at such ranks there may actually be real cheaters.

CS 2 Competitive Mode Ranks

To evaluate player abilities in competitive mode, the rank system familiar to CS:GO players is used.

Ranks in CS2 have 18 levels. We will tell you about them below, starting from the minimum and ending with the most prestigious.

Silver 1 – Silver 4

A player with these ranks is not bad at the game. Of course, he still has a lot to learn, but there are no problems with the basics and rules. At this stage you need to be extremely careful: the mistakes you make will have serious consequences.

Silver Elite

This is a decent level and indicates that the player has learned all the basics of CS2. These are locations on the most popular maps, the recoil nature of most types of weapons, a good sight, and the location of the crosshair.

With this rank, moving to higher levels is not too difficult; it just requires a slight adjustment to your play style.

Silver-Grand Master

This title in CS2 belongs to experienced fighters who have learned all the basics of the game and have significantly improved the game mechanics. They are well versed in most maps and demonstrate strategic thinking.

Gold Star-1

This is the average skill rank of Counter-Strike players. Gamers with this rank in CS2 have the following skills:

  • knowledge of all weapon recoil patterns;
  • ability to control almost all types of weapons;
  • having a constant goal;

Gold Star-2

This title in CS2 usually belongs to players who have logged several hundred hours in this shooter. They have the following skills and abilities:

  • good recoil control, skillful handling of weapons;
  • good aim (the player can aim at the enemy’s head and track targets in motion);
  • knowledge of maps at a high level;
  • use of skills and team communication.

Gold Star-3

This is one of the best ranks in Counter-Strike, especially for casual players. To progress further at this stage you will need to play with special concentration.

Gold Star Master

This level indicates the high skill of the gamer, a deep understanding of the game and its mechanics. This rank in CS2 is characterized by belonging to a group of skills that have a level above average in the game.

To get the next rank in CS2, you will need to constantly improve, analyze your mistakes, identify weaknesses, and work on them.

Wrapping It Up

The release of Counter-Strike 2 marked some reforms for competitive players. The new Premier mode doesn’t turn the game on its head, but it does make some important changes to the usual rules. To achieve success, it is important to remain systematic and analyze mistakes. We also recommend using the Profilerr service to evaluate the settings in the game and study useful information. The service is available to players from all over the world – whether you are in Chicago, Paris, or Toronto.
