Apex Legends is finally getting its first official tournament.

FACEIT Pro Series: Apex Legends will see some of the largest esports organizations in the world competing for an impressive $50,000 total prize pool.

Kicking off on May 31, FACEIT Pro Series: Apex Legends will be a series of $5,000 tournaments that span over eight weeks. That leaves a remaining $10,000, which will be rewarded to the highest scoring team at the end of the event.

Similar to many major Fortnite tournaments, teams will compete in four-hour tournaments with each player trying to secure more points by the end of the match than other competing teams. The final will take place on July 26.

The live broadcasted event will feature teams from Cloud9, 100 Thieves, Team SoloMid, Team Liquid, Counter Logic Gaming, Gen.G, Misfits, Immortals, NRG Esports, Complexity Gaming, Dignitas, Fnatic, G2 Esports, and T1. Each week, one of the competitors will play live from the FACEIT studio in Los Angeles.

The broadcast will be split between the teams streaming online, and the team and broadcast talent in the Santa Monica studio. FACEIT co-founder Michele Attisani said that this “dnynamic set up” will create a “seamless viewer experience” for Apex Legends fans.

FACEIT Pro Series: Apex Legends will also feature well-known Counter-Strike: Global Offensive casters James Bardolph and Daniel “DDK” Kapadia.

“This is the first event where these titans of the esports industry can really show what their Apex Legends rosters are made of and we’re thrilled to play a part in establishing the competitive ecosystem for one of the most exciting titles in the world right now,” Attisani said.

While this is the first official Apex Legends competitive series, FACEIT has organized events in the past. This includes the T1 x FACEIT Apex Legends Invitational, which had popular streamers competing in one of the first ever Apex legends competitions.
