f0rest is taking break from CSGO for the birth of his child
For one of CSGO’s most decorated players, some things are more important than tournaments.
Dignitas rifler Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg will be taking a short break from his team to attend the birth of his child. Dignitas has yet to announce a temporary replacement. This will be f0rest’s second child after his daughter was born in 2019.
I wont be playing in the upcoming tournament with @dignitas because me and my wife are expecting a baby any day now, so full focus on that! But i wish the boys the best and ill be cheering them on and so should you ✌️thank you for your understanding #DIGWIN

Dignitas is not currently slated to play in any major tournaments within the next two months. It’s possible that Dignitas has received an event invite behind the scenes which they haven’t revealed yet. The team could potentially compete in ESL Pro League Season 14 starting on August 16. Dignitas is currently ranked 22nd on the ESL World Rankings.
While some fans are irate that their favorite team will need a stand-in, most in the professional CSGO community responded with congratulations. Na’Vi AWPer Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, Ninjas in Pyjamas rifler Fredrik “REZ” Sterner, and FACEIT vice president James Bardolph all paid their respects through social media.
What is f0rest famous for in CSGO?
f0rest was a member of the legendary Ninjas in Pyjamas lineup that dominated the earlier days of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. f0rest helped create an 87 map win streak, the longest in esports history, which ended in 2013. He was also a top-level player in the Counter-Strike 1.6 scene.
The roster for NIP’s 87-0 win streak was:
- Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg
- Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund
- Adam “friberg” Friberg
- Robin “Fifflaren” Johansson
- Richard “Xizt” Landström
Dignitas attempted to reunite that legendary squad in early 2020 when the organization signed f0rest, GeT_RiGhT, friberg, and Xizt. However, only friberg and f0rest continue to play for Dignitas in a competitive capacity. GeT_RiGhT moved to streaming and Xizt left the organization in late 2020. At 33 years old, f0rest is one of the oldest CSGO players still competing today.
