Everything you need to know about OWL 2022 Summer Showdown

Overwatch League is returning soon, and in a big way. The OWL 2022 Summer Showdown is set to begin on August 11 with qualifiers matches. This regional tournament will feature two separate brackets for teams from the west and east respectively, in a fight to earn League Points and qualify for the Summer Showdown Tournament.

Overwatch League Summer Showdown Qualifiers structure

The Summer Showdown will have teams in the west facing off twice against every other opponent in the region over the course of the season. In the east, each team will be playing in a round robin style during the tournament cycle.

Every match win during the qualifiers stage will result in 1 League Point. Teams will get an additional 1 League Point if they qualify for the Summer Showdown Tournament. To see the current standings, check out the Overwatch League website.

Will the Summer Showdown Qualifiers be played in Overwatch 2?

Yes. The Overwatch League Summer Showdown Qualifiers will be played in Overwatch 2 using the new 5v5 format. Pro players will be able to use Junker Queen, the game’s newest tank hero. It will also feature the new Push mode, featuring new maps Colosseom and New Queen Street.

How to watch the Overwatch League 2022 Summer Showdown Qualifiers

As in previous years, the Overwatch League 2022 Summer Showdown is exclusively streaming on YouTube Gaming. Overwatch fans can earn five League Tokens for every hour watched of the live OWL 2022 Summer Showdown matches. The full schedule is available on the Overwatch League website.
