Everything we know about Invincible season 2

Invincible season 2 is arriving on Amazon Prime later this year.

Invincible is based on the comic created by Robert Kirkman. It ran from 2003 through 2019 and had 144 issues. In 2021, Amazon released the animated version of Invincible, which became an instant sensation.

Invincible combines superheroes, a popular trope in the media, and adult humor. These are not your Marvel characters, and it’s that rawness which kept the audience glued to the skin.

The second and third seasons of Invincible have been confirmed by Amazon.

Invincible season 2 release date

There isn’t an exact date for the release of Invincible season 2. However, we know it might be coming in 2023. Back in January, Invincible shared an update that said, “Season 2, Late 2023 (more or less)”. This could mean the show is getting sooner or that it might be delayed until 2024.  

In April of 2022, Invincible shared through Twitter a clip of Steve Yeun in the recording booth. Yeun is the actor behind the show’s protagonist Mark Grayson.

While the premiere date is unclear, we know the production has been hard at work.

“We’ve been working on it for a while. We’re working very hard on it. Basically, every day Robert is working on it, and I’m working on it. We’re talking about it, and we are well in on the process,” said Simon Racioppa, the show’s head writer, during an interview with Tech Radar.

The team has plenty of material to cover in the upcoming seasons. The original comic had 144 issues, and only 23 issues were adapted in season one.

It is unclear if the Invincible writers will attempt to adapt the remaining 121 issues in seasons 2 and 3 or if we can expect a fourth season. One thing is for certain, creating an animated show is a long process.

Who is returning for Invincible season 2?

Yeun will be joined by Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Mark Hamill, and more. It is unclear if Ezra Miller will reprise his role in the show.
