Fortnite Wilds has uncovered a huge swath of the island, which leaves fans wondering exactly what’s in store for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4.

Fortnite divides every year into its own “Chapter”, which lasts the whole year round. Each Chapter is divided into four Seasons, which make up the four quarters of the year. Each Season brings huge updates to the map, mechanics, and more for Fortnite players to enjoy. Here’s every rumor, leak, and confirmed detail that we think might tell us more about Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 is slated to begin in mid August, likely August 25. The Fortnite servers will go down the night before at 11:59 and will stay down for maintenance until the new Season begins.

“Durian” live event will end Chapter 4 Season 4

Popular community figure and news leaker ShiinaBR has divulged some interesting details about Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 on Twitter. According to Shiina, Chapter 4 will conclude with a live event known simply as the “Durian” live event. This live event won’t be one of the main gameplay events, like a Dragon Ball or Star Wars event, but one of Fortnite’s classic Chapter-ending, Season-busting live experiences that gamers flock to the island for. According to Shiina, the event’s countdown is scheduled to begin on November 21, 2023. If it resembles the Chapter-end event from last season, it’ll be a huge spectacle that leads to the island getting a serious makeover for the coming year. Or, since the current island is trapped in another dimension, perhaps a return to the original island that fans have been missing!

The name itself doesn’t give up much information, and only leads to more questions. “Durian” appears to be a reference to Durian fruit, a spiky and famously powerfully odorous plant from Southeast Asia. It’s hard to tell why Epic Games chose Durian for the event’s name, unless it has to do with the fruit’s distinctive spiky appearance or pungent smell. Shiina is rarely wrong about data leaks, so fans should keep their eyes and ears peeled as Season 4 approaches for this mysterious Durian event.
