Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 gameplay: Everything we know
During the PlayStation Showcase on Wednesday, Sony revealed all the moves that Spider-Man (or men) would be packing in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 this fall.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is slated for Fall 2023. Since its official announcement in 2021, Sony has remained tight-lipped about details, but we finally know what Spider-Man is capable of. A 10-minute long video dives into Miles Morales and Peter Parker’s new powers as Spider-Man.
Spider-Man is easily one of the highly anticipated games of 2023, and we finally know more. Here’s the gameplay trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
The first takeaway from the trailer is that there will be two Spider-Man in the game that players can switch between with a click. With this new twist, players can experience the story from the perspective of each Spider-Man. While two characters can be switched easily, each Spider-Man has unique skills that can be upgraded via an all-new individual skills tree.
Here’s the gameplay of each character in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Peter Parker’s new symbiote suit is deadly
Peter’s new Symbiote abilities are the biggest hit so far. Leaving his innocence behind, Peter dons a dark suit with a Symbiote, reminiscent of Venom, attached to it.
Peter Parker, in his new Symbiote, can be seen tackling multiple giant enemies at once in the trailer. Thanks to his Symbiote tendrils, Spider-Man can slam multiple foes into the ground and up in the air. He seems to also control the tendrils, dividing them into as many arms as he wants. Peter can also turn the goo into a web to trap enemies.
While his suit is high-duty, Peter is still agile with incredible reflexes. Peter Parker can use classic dodge to get out of danger. He can also be seen kicking barrages at his enemies and pulling off insane tricks. But he’s not faster than Miles Morales.
Miles Morales is faster than ever
Miles’ newfound blue bioelectric powers are the most notable out of all his abilities. Traversal gets an upgrade in Spider-Man 2, allowing Miles to sling through the big apple at the speed of light. Miles Morales will also get an upgrade to his Web Wings, letting him fly through tunnels and other congested areas.
Miles is undoubtedly more agile than ever, but he’s as daunting as Peter in combat. Using his Web Line, he can trap many enemies and get a hold of them using Web Grabber. Once he has his foes under control, he can then use his Thunder Burst and Chain Lightning ability fueled by newfound blue bioelectric powers.
Safe to say, the game’s central villain, Kraven the Hunter, is in for a big surprise in Spider-Man 2.
