Dr. Disrespect admits that his director was kicked out on the street

Many people have been following Guy “Dr. Disrespect” Beahm’s journey ever since the Twitch personality was banned from the streaming platform for filming in a bathroom at E3.

They watched him reactivate his Twitch account. They read his apology. And then over 73,000 viewers tuned in for his first official streaming session since the month-long ban.

But while many fans have been on the edge of their seats wondering what Dr. Disrespect will do next, they don’t have the same amount of curiosity over Dr. Disrespect’s former video director. Still, the Twitch streamer took the time to inform his viewers about his director’s fate since the E3 debacle.

In true Guy fashion, Dr. Disrespect told his fans that he had kicked his director, Alex, “out on the street.” This was a decision he made after Twitch allegedly told him that Alex wasn’t allowed to be part of his team anymore if he wanted to continue streaming.

It seemed that a lot of blame was being placed on his director, who had been the one who allowed Dr. Disrespect to film in the men’s bathroom at E3. That livestream broke California law.

“We got rid of him. It saves me a lot of money anyway,” Dr. Disrespect said flippantly.

He went on to say that he would be handling the music, editing, and transitions himself. He’d be doing everything. And then maybe, one day, he’d find a new director.

Dr. Disrespect’s bathroom livestream

“When we were walking around filming at E3, we clearly weren’t thinking about the law/repercussions of filming in the bathroom because, honestly, it wasn’t in our mind frame at the time,” Dr. Disrespect admitted in an out-of-character Twitlong.

It was one of the few times that fans have seen Beahm speak out of character. In fact, that was what got him in trouble, he explained.

“I try to stay true with authenticity. Real-life personas are so difficult to pull off, especially in today’s society. Doc is edgy, highly opinionated, cocky, etc., and that certainly adds to the difficulty in staying authentic without offending anyone on a deeper, personal level,” Dr. Disrespect continued.

While trekking around E3 in character, Dr. Disrespect and his crew forgot what was okay and what wasn’t okay in pursuit of maintaining his over-the-top persona in the videos. He also admitted that he wasn’t aware that filming in a public bathroom was illegal.

Then he apologized on behalf of the Dr. Disrespect brand.

“I think those that have followed me for years outside of the character, even before Twitch, know what kind of person I am. I have an incredible support system from family, friends, business partners, community and following. I’m very lucky to be considered an influential person in this entertainment space,” Dr. Disrespect said.

While Dr. Disrespect admitted that the incident was a “step back,” he also noted that his goal is to continue to entertain his fans through his creative skits and jokes. And by playing video games, of course.
