The Little Mermaid deviated from the original movie in some key moments, developing the relationship between Ariel and Eric better. If there was a sequel, it could take the story in a completely different direction before exploring their life as parents. Fans are asking for a sequel, mainly because they enjoy the on-screen chemistry between Bailey and Jonah Hauer-King, who plays Eric.
