After Diablo 4’s early access launch on June 1, players are now wondering if they can cause mayhem in the Sanctuary with friends cross-platform.

Diablo 4 is easily Blizzard’s most anticipated ARPG so far since the last installment in 2012. Now, Diablo 4 early access is dropping jaws worldwide with its updated top-down gameplay and immersive always-online world. The game’s multiplayer component allows players to cooperate, team up, and fight the demons within the Sanctuary.

Diablo 4 is immersive for solo riders, but players can also team up with friends on other platforms.

Does Diablo 4 have cross-play?

Diablo 4

Yes. Diablo 4 has cross-play and cross-progression.

Diablo 4 players can now all team up with each other regardless of their platform. So, if you’re playing on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, or PC, you can still invite your friends to the party. This is all thanks to Battle.net. This means that as long as everyone’s logged into Battle.net, they’re eligible to be in the same lobby. But that’s not even the best part.

Low-level players won’t have to worry about overpowered bosses that may spawn into the location due to their high-skilled friends. Every enemy you face will be at par with each player’s individual level, ensuring fair play.

Besides cross-platform, Diablo 4 also offers cross-progression, meaning whatever you gain during your PC grind will transfer onto your PlayStation as well. Since progress is saved to the Battle.net servers, it’ll stay with you regardless of the platform.

How does Diablo 4 couch co-op work?

Players can also share screens with their friends with the Diablo 4 couch co-op element. By activating this, the screen will be split into two, allowing simultaneous gameplay for duos. Here’s how to turn it on.

  • Launch Diablo 4.
  • Turn on the second player’s controller and wait for a notification confirming the second player’s connection.
  • The second player must log in with their PlayStation account linked to Blizzard’s Battle.net service.
  • They will then be given the option to select their character.

From here, two players can enjoy Diablo 4 together.
