Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz is no stranger to incredible plays, but his latest highlight might be among his best.
The superstar AWPer for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive juggernaut Astralis turned heads with a recent clutch round on Inferno.
In a match versus Hellraisers during ESL Pro League Season 9, the Dane pulled off an incredible 1 on 2 clutch win, using just two bullets to put Astralis up 9-6 on the map. Device had just only bullets left in the magazine of his AK-47, clutched the round against two opponents, and still had ammo left over.
The poor unfortunate souls dev1ce one-tapped were Kirill “ANGE1” Karasiow and Žygimantas “nukkye” Chmieliauskas. Astralis took the match 2-0 over Hellraisers, who are a fine team in their own right. Astralis is currently up 2-0 in Group D, the last group left in the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 9.
Astralis have been on an otherworldly tear in the past calendar year. They’ve been number one in the HLTV.org rankings since April 23rd of 2018, remaining in that position for over a year. The team won the FACEIT Major in 2018 and IEM Katowice in 2019.
During their reign of terror they’ve suffered very few eliminations at live events. Those include a defeat to Team Liquid at the IBUYPOWER Masters 2019 and an underwhelming showing during the group stage at BLAST Pro Series Miami.
Astralis may be well on its way to becoming the most dominant team to ever play CS:GO.
Dev1ce in particular has been a force of nature. He holds the record for HLTV MVPs in a single year during 2018 and boasts a total of nine MVP awards over the course of his six-year professional career.
Although Astralis functions as an ideal example of teamwork, synergy, and efficiency, dev1ce’s individual talent cannot be overlooked. He has been ranked as one of the top three CS:GO players in the world for the past three years running, and he and his team are showing no signs of slowing their utter domination of the competitive landscape any time soon.
