An infamous door bug has returned to Nuke, and this time it has cost a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professional player his life.
Some CSGO bugs are scarce and irreplicable. However, these glitches can occur at most inconvenient times. The popular “Door Stuck” bug returned during a professional game between Team Liquid and Mad Lions in the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown. It was equally hilarious and unfortunate, as Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski ended up losing the aim battle.
CSGO Door Stuck bug returns in pro match
During the pistol round of the first map, things got messy at A site as Mad Lions tried gaining site control. Elige hid on top of the container but jumped down to land his second kill in the round. However, he ended up messing his pistol spray as he got stuck in the wooden door. The pro player stayed alive for longer than he should but eventually died while he tried reloading in the face of the enemy.
The pro player laughed it off as Team Liquid managed to win the game, but that round reminded CSGO players of the long-forgotten meme-worthy bug.
Stuck doors have existed in Counter-Strike for as long as the game itself. It was first encountered by casual players in CS 1.6, who were bewildered and yelling into their mics at the weird mechanic. Since then, it has become a popular meme in the community. Many players came across the glitch in CSGO as well, but this is the first time it happened during a live, big tournament stream.

It’s an uncommon bug, but it can undoubtedly be game-breaking in high stake matches. For example, if it were a full buy round with a scoreline in favor of MAD lions, losing Elige to a dumb bug could have panned out differently. It didn’t matter much since it was just the first game with kill odds in Team Liquid’s favor. But in different circumstances, the stuck door could leave players vulnerable in front of armed enemies.
Hopefully, Valve would again look at this meme bug that rarely occurs but is highly impactful. Players went as far ahead to request a sticker for this meme, and Valve actually added it in the game. The foil “Door Stuck” sticker can be bought from the Steam market to decorate your weapons. Whatever the case, Elige’s unfortunate death in server certainly brought a dead meme back to life.
