Complexity Gaming adds ex-Cloud9 player Rush, Heroic's blameF

Complexity Gaming has announced two new roster signings for its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team.

First, the organization announced that Benjamin “blameF” Bremer will be joining the team as the new in-game leader. BlameF parted ways with Heroic after eight months with the team. The run with Heroic was a decent one for both sides, highlighted by appearances at the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals and ESL One Cologne, as well as strong performances in various online tournaments.

The announcement of blameF joining the team was quickly overshadowed by the addition of William “RUSH” Wierzba. Rush is leaving Cloud9 after almost two years with the team, a stretch that included the organization’s victory at the ELEAGUE Major Boston. Before joining Cloud9, Rush enjoyed a successful 18-month stint with OpTic Gaming that included a first-place finish in ELEAGUE Season 2.

These signings come a little more than a month after a controversial tweet from Complexity’s founder, Jason Lake. Following his team’s quick elimination from the StarLadder Berlin Major, Lake expressed his disappointment with the team and actively called for top free agents to reach out. The move received backlash as fans and some pro players suggested it was an insult to Complexity’s lineup shortly after the disappointment of being eliminated from the major.

Regardless, with these signings the current Complexity CSGO roster consists of Rory “dephh” Jackson, Shahzeeb “ShahZam” Khan, Hunter “SicK” Mims, Owen “oBo” Schlatter, blameF, and Rush.

The additions of blameF and Rush are big, but this isn’t the end of the changes to Complexity. The team currently has six players on its roster, which means that one of these players will likely be either cut or deactivated in the near future. Additionally, there is still plenty of high-end free agent talent available for Lake to sign, if interested.

Whatever the final state of the roster is, Complexity will be looking for meaningful results as soon as possible. The team is set to compete in both the ECS Season 8 North America division and the ESL Pro League Season 10 Americas division.

Expect a final version of the Complexity roster in the near future.
