Cloud9 has announced the signing of former professional player Christian “IWillDominate” Rivera as their newest streamer and content creator, despite his recent ban from the League Partnership Program

IWillDominate will be joining Cloud9 as a content creator, joining popular figures such as fellow retired pro Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi and former coach and analyst Christopher “MonteCristo” Mykles, who are also making content for the organization.

Cloud9 welcomed the controversial streamer despite his recent ban from the League Partnership Program, which took away his privilege to co-stream the LCS broadcasts as well as other perks. Th ban is set to last for at least one year, after which IWillDominate’s conduct will again be reviewed by Riot Games.

Cloud9 wrote in their official announcement that they are excited to work with an experienced streamer and former professional player who knows the ins and outs of the game.

“His knowledge of the game is second to none, and his passion for all things League of Legends makes us so excited to be welcoming him to Cloud9. We can’t wait to see the amazing content that is to come,” Cloud 9 said in their announcement

IWillDominate joins C9 despite accustaions of toxic behavior

The recent ban of IWillDominate came as a shock to many after he has been pulling most of his viewers through the popular LCS co-streams. IWillDominate was already on probation, but Riot ultimately decided to ban him after unspecified instances that pushed his case over the edge.

The addition of IWillDominate gathered varying opinions on social media. Many people in the League of Legends community see IWillDominate as a toxic streamer who acts as an unhealthy influence on a younger audience. Despite those misgivings, IWillDominate consistently pulled over 10,000 concurrent viewers on his LCS co-streams and has also been hosting successful podcasts such as “The Crackdown.”

While IWillDominate is considered one of the most insightful LCS co-streamers, his viewership has dropped since the LPP ban. Before the ban, it was not unusual for IWillDominate to peak betwen 18,000-20,000 viewers during a co-stream, but in recent weeks he has been struggling to break 10,000. The new partnership with Cloud9 might boost his popularity again, but it’s hard to imagine that he will reach the same level he was previously at so long as he remains suspended from the LPP.
