Lifting up the LCS champion trophy inside your apartment is apparently not the same as lifting it up on the LCS Arena stage.

After defeating FlyQuest in the Spring Split 2020 Finals, Cloud9 became the Spring Split champions. After a 17-1 regular season record, this didn’t really come as a surprise to anyone. In fact, other teams were even avoiding scrimming with the squad since they were “shitting on” the rest of North America’s pro teams so easily.

While most of the Cloud9 roster wished they had won while playing on the stage in front of fans, they were still overwhelmingly emotional and excited when the 3-0 series ended with them coming out champions. The team immediately jumped out of their seats and met up in one of their rooms to jump up and down, celebrating the momentus moment.

Soon after, Cloud9’s CEO, Jack Etienne, walked into the room with theLCS trophy in his hands. The squad lifted it excitedly into the air, cheering and smiling. But the moment was short-lived.

A few seconds later, Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen can be seen trying to put the trophy back together. The reactions are priceless: Etienne immediately starts cracking up, while other teammates look distraught.

G2 Esports even had to ask: “How?”

One question we have is: why did Cloud9 already have the trophy in their game house? Actually one more: did FlyQuest also have a trophy at their house at the ready in case they were the winners? Oh, and how much does the Spring Split trophy cost? Will they be getting a new one?

Maybe we’ll find out next week.
