Dennis “Cloakzy” Lepore has finally parted ways with FaZe Clan after lengthy contractual disputes between the two parties.

The former captain for FaZe Clan’s Fortnite roster and more recent Call of Duty: Warzone content creator has announced his official exit from FaZe Clan after a four-year stint with the organization. The streamer’s time with FaZe Clan has been splattered with controversies and drama since the beginning of 2019. However, Croakzy has put it all to bed and apologized in his official statement on the move.

The contract between Cloakzy and FaZe Clan hit the skids when the streamer tried to get out of the deal and FaZe refused to release him. In 2019, Cloakzy followed in the footsteps of Turner “Tfue” Tenney, who filed a lawsuit against FaZe Clan for was structuring a contract that favored the organization to an unfair degree. Tfue successfully settled the dispute in August 2020 and was consequently released from his contract. However, things didn’t pan out as well for Cloakzy when he adopted a similar approach.

Cloakzy has previously addressed the situation on his streams, saying that he’s stuck in a contract with FaZe and that the organization won’t let him leave. During recent months, he has publicly expressed his wish to leave FaZe and start over multiple times. In 2019, both parties came close to ending the contract mutually, but the discussions fell off and the vicious cycle continued. In May 2020, Cloakzy said that his contract would expire in one year, and it seems that it’s finally happened. The streamer has been released from the organization a few months ahead of May.

Cloakzy has ended his long journey in FaZe with a public apology, which asserts that there’s likely no bad blood between the two now that the move has been settled.

Former FaZe Clan content creator Cloakzy is now a free agent

The former Fortnite pro has finally entered the free agent market as he’s out of his contract with FaZe Clan. Cloakzy will be liberated of contract obligations with any organization for the first time in four years, which warrants exciting things ahead of him.

It’s unlikely that he’d sign with another organization as content creator after spending a long time on Twitch under FaZe banner. With a plethora of Fortnite and Overwatch players entering Valorant esports, it’s possible Cloakzy would consider going pro in Valorant, or he could make a return to competitive Fortnite.
