What if we told you it’s possible to no-scope enemies in CSGO every single time? Well, there’s a long-standing secret hack in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive that gives you a regular crosshair on AWP, enabling no-scopes.
CSGO has a litany of long-standing bugs, thanks to Valve not really offering fixes unless absolutely necessary. This means OGs are aware of some hacks that are game-breaking in MM. You won’t see them being used in mainstream games, but they still exist.
This hack we are about to share has existed for almost a decade in CSGO and is absolutely nuts.
How to no-scope with an AWP in CSGO
A scoped in AWP is the best weapon in the hands of a serial rifler. Now, imagine if CSGO also had a mini crosshair for snipers like in Valorant. Valve wants to keep its skill ceiling intact, but there’s a workaround to achieving something that resembles a “box hair.”
Old-timers still use the console hack to achieve a mini crosshair on AWP in CSGO. Here’s how:
Start CSGO MM and then open console (~)
Write a random text here. E.g.: asdasd
Now copy this text, and while you’re still holding the left click, close the console by pressing the tilde
You’ll now see a rectangular box in the middle of the screen where a crosshair should be
This works on all sniper rifles. You can also turn it off by opening the console when you switch to a gun since this box will stay on all weapon crosshairs, cluttering the screen. Now, this isn’t as precise as a micro crosshair, but it’d help you land no-scopes if you’re a seasoned player. New AWPers may also use this hack to anticipate where their scope will open since this is something green snipers struggle with.
Until or unless Valve fixes this — which seems unlikely considering the age of this hack — players will try to milk it. However, now that it’s out in the open, Valve may consider removing this long-standing bug from CSGO.
