Are Hisuian Pokemon coming to Pokemon GO in Season of Heritage?

The Pokemon GO Season of Heritage is here, and it’s likely to bring Hisuian Pokemon to the game in celebration of the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

Niantic has revealed the Season of Heritage, which follows this fall’s Season of Mischief. The Season of Mischief revolved around the mythical Pokemon Hoopa, introduced Galarian Pokemon to Pokemon GO, and culminated with players catching Shadow Lugia.

While the rewards and goals of the Season of Heritage aren’t yet clear, it seems very likely that the event will serve as the launching point for Pokemon from the Hisui region. But what else is coming in the Season of Heritage? And just what is the Hisui region?

What is the Season of Heritage in Pokemon GO?

The Season of Heritage is a timed event in Pokemon GO that will run for three months. The event will see a number of rare Pokemon appear in the wild based on the surroundings of the player. This includes the likes of Porygon, Solosis, Lapras, and Feebas.

As with the Season of Mischief, the Season of Heritage will also have a number of other features for players to enjoy increased rewards and improved quality of life. This includes guaranteed Candy XLs for trades, increased Incense effectiveness, and higher damage in raids for those participating with a Remote Raid Pass.

Are Hisuian Pokemon coming to Pokemon GO?

The Season of Heritage event will likely bring Hisuian Pokemon to Pokemon GO.

The Season of Heritage logo hearkens to the imagery and style of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, with a mountain and painted font. Not only that, but Pokemon Legends: Arceus is set to arrive on January 28, right in the middle of the Season of Heritage with a number of new Pokemon included in the game.

Given that the Season of Mischief saw the arrival of Galarian Pokemon to Pokemon GO, it would make sense to see the Hisuian Pokemon of Pokemon Legends: Arceus arriving in the Season of Heritage. Several new Pokemon have already been shown including regional variants of Growlithe, Zorua, and Braviary, as well as brand new evolutions of Scyther, Basculin, and Stantler.

How Niantic would approach adding these Pokemon is unknown. There could hypothetically be a new Hisui Stone item added similar to the Sinnoh and Unova Stones, or these Pokemon could be hidden within eggs, raids, and events like the Alolan and Galarian regional variants.

What is Pokemon Legends: Arceus?

Pokemon Legends: Arceus is an upcoming spin-off game set in a pre-historic Sinnoh region.

Before it was known as Sinnoh, this area was called Hisui and included a number of Pokemon that haven’t been seen before by players. At face value, Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a standard Pokemon game. But it has many unique mechanics that set it apart in the Pokemon franchise. The game has interesting action elements that will see trainers engage in battle directly with wild Pokemon, something that hasn’t been seen before in the series.

When does the Season of Heritage end in Pokemon GO?

The Season of Heritage is active now, and it ends on March 1, 2022.

There are a number of mini-events during the event that will include the leaders of Team Instinct, Team Valor, and Team Mystic, including the Swinub Incense day based around Team Mystic’s Blanche. There isn’t yet a dedicated special research mission attached to the event as the Season of Mischief had with Misunderstood Mischief, but that could come at a later date.

All shiny Pokémon available in Pokémon GO in 2026 Zachary Roberts Getting a shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO is an absolute treat.
