EA accidentally leaked the next legend in some artwork for Apex Legends Season 17.
The developer recently shared an official blog post about the upcoming Veiled Collection event. And while the gaudy and elegant skins were most definitely appealing, the real draw was the Season 17 artwork included within that accidentally showed off the next legend.
The header image showed an unknown legend that appeared to be the upcoming character, who has not been officially announced. The image was quickly replaced, but not before players took a bunch of screenshots of the legend holding an interesting new weapon that Titanfall fans instantly recognized.
After the image was pulled from the blog, a trusted data miner known as KralRindo concluded that the new season or legend will be called Arsenal.
Prior hints and leaks, however, point to the legend being called Ballistic. He appears to be the son of an infamous legend that many legends look up to. It’s possible that his father is Kuben Blisk, an iconic character from Titanfall. It would explain Ballistic’s possible focus on weapons and ammo since Blisk was an arms dealer.
The new legend in the picture appears to be a bit older than the rest of the roster, with grey hair, wrinkles, and some badass sunglasses. He also has a duster coat that plays up the gunslinger leak. But what’s also interesting is what’s in his hand, a weapon that looks very similar to a weapon called the Smart Pistol in Titanfall.
Now, players are wondering if the Smart Pistol is coming to Apex Legends in Season 17 along with Ballistic and the other new content. It’s also possible that the Smart Pistol is part of Ballistic’s kit and won’t be available for other legends to loot.
For now, only time will tell. Season 17 is coming on May 9, 2023, bringing the new legend with it.
