Apex Legends mobile is getting Team Deathmatch before PC
EA has
launched Apex Legends Mobile, and mobile and PC players alike are eyeing new exclusive skins and a much-anticipated Team Deathmatch mode that are headed to the game. But mobile players may be getting some things before their PC brethren.
Apex Legends players have long been requesting a team deathmatch mode. TDM has been on EA’s radar for PC, but mobile players will experience it first. This is shocking for PC players waiting patiently for the new team deathmatch game mode to arrive. But it seems that EA’s mobile version of Apex Legends is much different than the PC version, and that difference could account for this decision.
In a blog, EA has clarified that Apex Legends mobile may vary from PC variant as it is designed to better suit the remote gaming experience.
“While Apex Legends Mobile and Apex Legends both take place in the same universe, they will be on separate servers. As Apex Legends Mobile is a standalone experience delivering controls, content, social features, and game modes tailored for mobile play,” EA said.
Does Apex Legends mobile have TDM?
Apex Legends Mobile will have the coveted TDM game mode that puts teams against each other in a cut-throat setting. This mode is currently unavailable on PC.
These are all the game modes in Apex Legends mMobile:
- Team Deathmatch (TDM)
- Mini Battle Royale
- 3v3 Arenas
- Ranked Battle Royale matches
So far, these games can only be played on the World’s Edge map. While all game modes are interesting, the TDM inclusion caught players’ eyes. Apex Legends PC players have been waiting for TDM, which was reportedly under development. However, EA has launched it on mobile before PC players can take it for a spin.
The six-verses-six TDM mode will remain a fantasy for PC players while mobile users battle it out on World’s Edge. The aim is to eliminate everyone on the opposing team, and the winner is the team that reaches a set kill limit. The team scenario adds a new feel to Apex’s fast-paced outlands gameplay. Specific loadouts can be chosen, enabling players to practice particular weapon types and Legends.
This attractive game mode made quite some waves in the Apex Legends community when it was brought to Call of Duty and other battle royale games. Unfortunately, PC Apex Legends players will have to wait a bit longer to experience it. EA may choose to introduce TDM to the PC variant after testing out the response among mobile players.
Those who can’t wait to try out the new game mode can download Apex Legends Mobile on iOS and Android. The application is only available in 10 select countries for now. A broader release shall soon follow with a shiny new battle pass featuring exclusive content.
