Antwerp Major stickers are on sale, are they worth investing in?

If you’re looking to make a pretty penny off stickers, the Antwerp Major may be a good time to invest.

Every Counter-Strike: Global Offensive major brings a ton of new stickers to the game and as every player knows, older slaps can get extremely expensive. With the Antwerp Major stickers now on sale, this is the best time to stock up on autographs and team stickers. But entrepreneurial fans may also want to treat their post-major splurge as an investment. Here’s what you need to know before you invest in Antwerp Major CSGO stickers.

As with any kind of investment, fans aren’t guaranteed a return. The CSGO marketplace is a fickle industry and Valve can be erratic with its decisions. CSGO 2 could hypothetically be announced and tank the skin marketplace overnight. The good news is that these stickers are so cheap right now that it’s no serious loss if things don’t pan out, unless you go overboard.

The sticker sale, which was announced via a playful spat between CSGO and FaZe rifler Robin “ropz” Kool, has reduced the price of Antwerp Major sticker capsules by 75%. All sticker capsules now cost just 25 cents a pop. The Antwerp Major sale makes this the ideal time to invest, but just what kind of returns can fans expect?

Team sticker capsules can get ridiculously expensive, and the Antwerp Major designs will make them more sought-after in the long term. The stickers are very sleek with a central team logo and a small tournament banner below them. Some fans have even compared them to Katowice 2014 stickers, though the capsule’s price on the secondary market should never even approach the original CSGO team sticker.

Here’s how other major sticker capsules performed

For reference, let’s look at other recent majors and see how expensive their capsules are now.

  • Stockholm 2021 Challengers – $2
  • Stockholm 2021 Contenders – 73 cents
  • Stockholm 2021 Legends – 43 cents
  • Berlin 2019 Minor Challengers – 78 cents
  • Berlin 2019 Returning Challengers – $1.17
  • Berlin 2019 Legends – $1

Now that majors will be more frequent, the ebb and flow of old tournament sticker capsules should be most consistent. Fans who plan to invest in Antwerp Major stickers should expect to wait at least a year before any significant returns. These capsule prices only go up over time aside from a few exceptions, so this is really only a good opportunity for patient CSGO fans.

As for the best capsules to buy, previous prices indicate that it’s a total toss-up. The Stockholm 2021 Challengers capsule, which has the highest price of all six, contains several popular teams including Astralis, Heroic, ENCE, and more. Based on that, the best Antwerp Major sticker capsule to invest in is possibly the Legends capsule with Ninjas in Pyjamas, Cloud9, Natus Vincere, and FaZe Clan.

As always, the Steam Marketplace is a strange and fickle place. No investment is guaranteed to pay off and predicting which of the three capsules will become the most valuable is a guessing game.

Will Antwerp Major autograph stickers go up in price?

Team stickers are difficult to predict, but autographs can be a more stable investment if the investor knows what they’re doing.

While Antwerp Major team sticker capsules are relatively simple with only 32 possible pulls, each autograph capsule contains one of 160 possible outcomes. This makes investing in capsules a much riskier affair.

This reflects in much lower marketplace prices for autograph capsules compared to team stickers. None of the autograph pods from Stockholm or Berlin have managed to go over 63 cents. That doesn’t mean there isn’t any money to be made, though.

The first option is to skip the random pulls and instead purchase coveted autographs directly from the Steam marketplace. Unless his career drastically changes, the rarer Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev signs are almost guaranteed to hold value. The same is true for other popular stars like Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and Håvard “rain” Nygaard.

The alternative choice is to buy a bunch of Antwerp Major autograph capsules and wait a very long time. These kinds of limited-time capsules tend to significantly increase in price around two years after their release. This method basically requires the owner to forget about the capsules, but it can definitely come in handy after a few years. No matter which method players choose, there are plenty of ways to invest in Antwerp Major capsules.
