The iconic horror video game franchise by Frictional Games, Amnesia, is getting a new installment in The Bunker, and it’s genuinely bloodcurdling. 

Frictional Games has been delivering chilling horror games since 2010 when Amnesia: A Dark Descent was released. Mixing wild concepts with immersive storylines, the developer creates a horror spectacle every other year. Now, coming off the heels of Rebirth, Frictional Games is bringing Amnesia: The Bunker. 

Get ready to be spooked because survival is getting ever more realistic in the latest installment of Amnesia. The terrifying video game breaks away from the typical horror genre, blending into a survival shooter. Amnesiacs will now get a weapon, but there’s a catch.

Amnesia: The Bunker gameplay revealed 

Unlike its predecessors, Amnesia: The Bunker will have a relatively powerful and well-equipped protagonist. In a wild twist, the game will allow players with a weapon, but it’s unknown whether it’ll be any use against the dark entities. Another catch is that the revolver only has a single bullet, so you must use it smartly. 

Gameplay in Amnesia: The Bunker boils down to choices since, this time, you’re on your own in a haunted bunker. There’s no script. Instead, your choices are what decide your fate. Every decision will change the outcome of how the game responds. In The Bunker, actions bear consequences.

There’s plenty to explore in the bunker. Amnesia: The Bunker features a semi-open world, which means endless possibilities. But, it also comes with ever-attentive monsters that react to player actions. You must use the resources to craft tools and aid your survival in a non-linear open world.

To start with, you will have a revolver with a single bullet and a noisy dynamo flashlight that must remain on at all costs. Plenty of jump scares will try to get the best of you, but staying focused on surviving is all that matters! 

What’s the storyline of Amnesia: The Bunker? 

The newest Amnesia game has no set script thanks to a semi-open world style that will let players make a choice. The story revolves around a French soldier Henri Clément, who suffers from memory loss, and is stuck in a haunted bunker spattered with the blood of unknown creatures. An otherworldly being follows the protagonist, who must manage his stress and amnesia to make out unscathed. 

Where is Amnesia: The Bunker located? 

Amnesia: The Bunker is set in a desolate underground chamber during the first World War. Frictional Games is still tight-lipped about the exact date. Rest assured, Amnesia: The Bunker is still months away from release. The game is slated for somewhere in March 2023.
