Gamers were a bit confused when a used copy of Elden Ring popped up on GameStop’s website with the asking cost of $190.

Elden Ring has been out since February 2022. FromSoftware’s game was a huge hit due to its difficult gameplay and deep storyline. Over 16.6 million copies of the game have been sold in the past six months. But would any of those players have purchased the game for $190?

A tweet from Wario64 has recently gone viral for showing shocking screenshots of Elden Ring for sale on GameStop’s website. The PlayStation 5 copy of the game is listed for $189.99.

How much does Elden Ring cost?

The confusion over the price makes sense. The usual price for a brand new copy of Elden Ring is $45 to $55. The $189.99 price tag is usually used for new copies of the Collectors Edition, not a used copy of the standard version of Elden Ring.

While some gamers said that the price seemed “fair” given how good the game is, most people were shocked by GameStop’s high price for a used copy of Elden Ring. One player even pointed out that a new version of Elden Ring for PlayStation 5 is $49.99.

A link to the pricy copy shows that it’s still available. It doesn’t seem like this is a popular item that’s going to sell out any time soon. Odds are that this high asking price is an error on the part of Gamestop, but it was still a shocking and amusing sight for most fans.

The discovery comes at an interesting time in Elden Ring. The series just received its first major content release outside the base game in the form of a gag manga. More is expected in the future but the news on actual DLC remains elusive.
