As more female streamers on Twitch have turned to sexually explicit and suggestive content to get views and subscribers, the spotlight on them, and on Twitch’s response, continues to grow.

A site has popped up called booba.tv, which highlights current live streams that are focused on female streamers appearing to use sex appeal for views. The live streams featured on the website are often women dancing, stretching, working out, and even just sitting at their desk with the camera tilted down toward their suggestive clothing.

The website calls itself a “curated list of entertaining streamers on Twitch,” but is clearly showcasing women on Twitch who aren’t just playing games. Many women on the list are in revealing outfits while doing pretty mundane things like yoga, cooking, and playing Just Dance. While writing this article, one woman was just sitting at her desk while wearing a low cut sweater with the camera aimed right at her chest. She had over 4,900 viewers despite never showing her face.

Some female streamers use Twitch to advertise OnlyFans

This isn’t the first time that the Twitch community has spotlighted female streamers in this way. Women successfully had a site called bunnyhop.tv taken down in the past for embedding female streamers’ channels without permission. These kinds of websites are often looked down upon for sexualizing and harassing female streamers, many of whom are simply playing games or hanging out with their chat while presenting themselves in a way that’s comfortable for them.

booba.tv seems to have a bit more of a focus on female streamers who purposely use sexualization to get views. More women have started using Twitch to funnel fans to their OnlyFans pages, which is how some streamers get much of their income. indiefoxx and Amouranth are notable examples of streamers who have faced backlash from the community after emailing followers with a prompt to join their OnlyFans.

A lot of people in the Twitch community feel that Twitch has completely changed from a platform where people played games to a site where OnlyFans models are showing themselves off for views. But if no rules are being explicitly violated, there may not be much room for complaint.

What is a hot tub stream?

Popular female streamer Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa had led the “hot tub stream meta” on Twitch. She sits in a blow-up hot tub while on stream and chats with her followers. This allows her to wear a bathing suit or other similarly skimpy clothing while streaming. Other female streamers have taken note of the streams’ success and have decided to also broadcast from inside a hot tub.

It’s not against Twitch’s Terms of Service to advertise an OnlyFans account or to wear a bathing suit. But that hasn’t stopped many in the streaming community from voicing their frustrations with this kind of content being on the platform. Even though Amouranth recently fought back against haters who said it was “easy” for female streamers to get views, it seems to some in the community that Twitch favors attractive female streamers and allows them to get away with suggestive content.
