Patrik f0rest Lindberg has left Ninjas in Pyjamas, setting the stage for a reunion with his former teammates on Dignitas.

Update: Dignitas has confirmed the addition of f0rest and other ex-NiP players

Ninjas in Pyjamas has officially released f0rest this morning, according to a blog post on the team’s official website. f0rest’s release means that all of Dignitas’ rumored players are no longer under contracts with other teams. Dignitas teased adding f0rest in a tweet, stating that the team’s favorite CSGO skin is the “Forest Leaves” for the USP-S.

There is little reason why f0rest would leave the legendary Ninjas in Pyjamas organization unless he had another offer somewhere else, suggesting that Dignitas’ plans to reunite the NiP core are coming to fruition.

“Patrik is a true icon of the game with a long list of accolades and has been instrumental in the legacy and brand of NiP for many years,” NiP COO Jonas Gundersen said, “That is something that we respect immensely and will never forget.”

Gundersen’s statement also suggested that f0rest requested his release from the team.

Rumors started as early as November that Dignitas wanted to reunite Richard “Xizt” Landström, Adam “friberg” Friberg, f0rest, and Christopher “GeT_Right” Alesund under the Dignitas banner as the organization considered a return to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive esports.

All four players are currently without an organization.

Dignitas also looks poised to sign Norweigian AWPer Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli to its roster. The organization has been linked to the inaugural season of the North American league “B Site.”

Nawwk joins NiP as f0rest departs CSGO team

Tim “nawwk” Jonasson will join Ninjas in Pyjamas in f0rests’ place, but he has big shoes to fill. nawwk comes to NiP from GamerLegion and will have to find a way to replicate the production that f0rest had in his final months with NiP.

F0rest has been the top performer on the young Ninjas in Pyjamas roster since Christopher “GeT_Right” Alesund’s departure after the StarLadder Berlin Major. While the talent around f0rest on NiP wasn’t bad by any means, the veteran was carrying games more than he was cultivating that talent.
