Like all multiplayer FPS games, XDefiant’s matchmaking aims to keep games balanced by having players of similar skill levels on each team. Does your XDefiant Skill Rating come into play? Here’s what we know.
What is your Skill Rating in XDefiant?
XDefiant is a general measurement of your overall performance throughout your career. It takes the following into consideration:
Kill/Death Ratio (KDA)
Win vs. losses
Performance during a match
There are most likely other factors that ultimately create your Skill Rating as well because some players have reported having similar KDAs and win/loss ratios yet have wildly different Skill Ratings. Most commonly, your Skill Rating will be higher of your kills include players that have high Skill Ratings.
Having a very consistently good performance in each match will also raise your Skill Rating. This means not only getting eliminations but also helping your team reach objectives and being impactful in a match.
Does XDefiant have skill based matchmaking?
As far as we can tell, your Skill Rating comes into play in casual matches. Your Skill Rating is used to ensure that matches are balanced and all players on both teams have similar skill levels. Some players have argued, however, that they haven’t noticed their Skill Rating impacting their matches at all. Like other games, this is largely done behind the scenes so it’s tough to confirm how it’s all determined.
How to find your XDefiant Skill Rating
If you want to check your Skill Rating and compare it to a friend’s, here’s how to find it:
Go to the Main Menu of XDefiant
Click on “Profile”
Select “Career Stats” on your Profile
Does XDefiant have ranked?
Currently, there is no ranked mode in XDefiant.
Ubisoft has stated that there will be a ranked mode in the near future. The ranked lobbies will most likely have a bit of a different way of balancing games and using skill based matchmaking.
For now, your Skill Rating is just a way to show off your, well, skills. Brag a bit to your friends.
