A Far Cry-inspired map has been leaked for XDefiant and it may delve into the lore and backstory of one of the factions in the game. Here’s what we know about the leaked XDefiant map Signal.
Despite the initial hiccups, XDefiant has rapidly grown into a thriving community. It was an instant hit in the shooter fanbase, amassing over 500,000 concurrent players on the first day of launch. Just 48 hours later, the game boasted 3 million unique players and 300,000 concurrent players.
Now, leakers have discovered that Ubisoft is already working on more content for the game, including a brand new XDefiant map Signal. According to the leaks, it’s a Far Cry-inspired location, another first-person shooter by Ubisoft.
The release date of the next map, Signal, is currently unknown, but here’s what we know about the leaked XDefiant map.
Ubisoft is diversifying the XDefiant color palette with Signal, which appears more lively and upbeat than the other 14 maps. It’s a perfect blend of picturesque views and tattered huts. A bright orange tree, pink cars and huts, and a blue sky stand out in this colorful location inspired by Far Cry.
Players will also notice the Eye of Providence and massive dome appear repeatedly in a short video, which likely may have some meaning in the game.
Since many XDefiant maps are related to the factions, this one will likely be home to the Libertad, a rebel group from Far Cry 6 and a faction in XDefiant. Visually, the map does seem to complement Libertad’s worn-out aesthetic.
While the player’s reaction to the map has been positive, fans are hoping for a location that has a safe spawn area. The layout shows that the dome could be the central spawn location.
So far, the release date of this map is unknown, but XDefiant map Signal is likely close to completion since the leaked teaser looks pretty clean. Fans will have to wait for an update from Ubisoft before getting their hopes up.
XDefiant currently has the following 14 maps:
