Will Diablo 4 Season of Malignant have a new class?

Will Diablo 4 have a new class? Fans were hoping for the announcement of a new class as part of Season 1, Season of the Malignant and here’s what we’ve learned.

Diablo 4 was released on June 5 with five different classes. Players got the opportunity to pick between Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue, and Sorcerer. The lack of a Paladin-like class became evident and it was often brought to developers’ attention. Unfortunately, Season of the Malignant will not include a new class.

Season of the Malignant brings new questlines and a new power that allows players to harness the power from fallen enemies. Season 1 will add six new Unique items and seven Legendary Aspects. This is the first update of many promised by Blizzard.

Why is Diablo 4 Season of the Malignant not adding a new class?

The game has been out for a little over a month, and while the developers are experienced, the game is still in its early stages. Diablo 4 is finding its footing and creating its own identity, separated from all the previous games.

Before thinking about adding a new class, developers are likely to focus on the existing classes. Developers must make sure all existing classes are performing as well as they can. There is a clear disparity in the game when it comes to power. Sorcerers are the most picked class and significantly stronger than other classes.

Not all hope is lost, however. Diablo 4 developers promised frequent updates for the years to come. Their goal is to keep expanding the Diablo universe. A new class could be added down the line, but it won’t be a reality any time soon.

Season of the Malignant release date

Season of the Malignant brings enough content to keep players busy for a while. Season 1, the first update since the game’s release, is scheduled for July 20.
