Who is Admiral Parangosky in the Halo show?

Admiral Margaret Parangosky is an Admiral in the UNSC, and the head of its dark intelligence agency ONI. She’s been mentioned in many Halo games, from Halo 3: ODST to Halo 4’s Spartan Ops to Halo 5: Guardians. She hasn’t appeared on-screen in the games, so the Halo show on Paramount Plus is fans’ first look at the implacable leader of the most mysterious branch of the UNSC. She is played by actress Shabana Azni.

Fans can find references to Admiral Parangosky dating back years, but she’s now an actual character rather than a background figure in the lore. Parangosky is a central piece of several pieces of Halo fiction, including Halo: Ghosts of Onyx.

Parangosky is being set up as an oppositional force for many characters in the story, from her distrust of the Master Chief and Doctor Halsey to her curt attitude toward Miranda Keyes, who is also getting prominent placement on the show. Parangosky in the base lore of the Halo games is described as the most dangerous person in the UNSC, a woman famous for eliminating anyone who crosses her with strange exception of Catherine Halsey.
