It is undeniable that one of the reasons for FaZe Clan’s popularity is the list of controversial personalities under its banner. One of these personalities is former Fortnite pro Dennis “Cloakzy” Lepore.

Lepore was born on December 26, 1995. He joined YouTube in 2015 when he started regularly posting on his channel. He became a prominent Fortnite content creator around 2018 when the game was at its peak in popularity.

Cloakzy played in trios with popular streamers Turner “Tfue” Tenney and Thomas “72hrs” Mulligan. The trio participated in multiple tournaments, including the Fall Skirmish Tournament organized by Epic Games, where they finished in first place.

The trio was successful, but not without internal controversy. In September of 2019, Tfue tweeted about wanting a new trio to compete. According to Tfue, his former trio wasn’t taking competitions seriously, focusing instead on other games and on brand deals. Madden had offered the trio $140,000 each to play the game together. Tfue refused the deal while the other two took it.

When did Cloakzy join FaZe?

Cloakzy joined FaZe Clan as captain of the Fortnite team in March of 2018 alongside 72hrs, Jaomock, and SpaceLyon.

The streamer parted ways with the organization in June of 2019. The streamer stated that he left because of unfair conditions, similar to the ones that caused Tfue’s departure.

“I am grateful for everything they’ve done for me and am happy we have come to an agreement to part ways. I wish nothing but the best for everyone over at FaZe,” he said at the moment of his departure.

The contract in question saw FaZe Clan retaining 80% of the player’s income and prevented him from accepting sponsorships without the team’s consent. The less-than-favorable conditions forced him to negotiate his way out of the team.

How much does Cloakzy make a year?

It is unclear what his annual income is. According to Esports Earnings, since 2018 Cloakzy has earned $464,666 in prize money from 50 tournaments.

According to Twitch Tracker, Cloakzy has around 5,005 current active subscribers on his Twitch channel. Considering that his subscriptions cost $2.99, it means he earns roughly $14,964. Considering that Twitch takes 50% of the earnings, Cloakzy would make over $7,000 a month from subs. It’s unclear what other ongoing deals he may have.

How did Cloakzy get famous?

Cloakzy gained popularity during the golden era of Fortnite. His skills got him into FaZe Clan, and being linked with the organization resulted in a massive growth in his following.

The streamer is still popular, but he pivoted into other games like Call of Duty and Escape from Tarkov. His viewership numbers have decreased since his departure from FaZe Clan.

What team is Cloakzy on?

In March of 2022, Cloakzy joined the North American organization Complexity.

“Joining Complexity and GameSquare unlocks new opportunities for me to push the limits of what’s possible in content creation and build a deeper connection to my audience,” said Cloakzy.

Cloakzy is a part-owner of Complexity. Some of his responsibilities include hosting events, producing branded content, and creating limited-edition merchandise.
