Mario Kart 8 Deluxe racers were beyond excited to learn that
48 new tracks
were coming to the popular racing game. The
Booster Course DLC
will be released throughout the year and into early 2023, bringing remastered favorites from previous installments of Mario Kart.
The 48 tracks are being split into eight waves, with each wave including two cups. This means eight tracks are coming in each wave. The first DLC wave for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was released in mid-March:
Golden Dash Cup
Paris Promenade (Tour)
Toad Circuit (3DS)
Choco Mountain (N64)
Coconut Mall (Wii)
Lucky Cat Cup
Tokyo Blur (Tour)
Shroom Ridge (3DS)
Sky Garden (GBA)
Ninja Hideaway (Tour)
This means there are still seven waves full of new tracks coming for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe racers. Mario Kart fans are already awaiting the next eight tracks, which are coming sometime this year.
When is the second wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tracks?
Nintendo didn’t reveal a full timeline for the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course DLC, but most Mario Kart fans are assuming there will be
some sort of drop pattern
for the new track waves. By following the predicted pattern, it can be assumed that the second wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tracks will come around the middle of July 2022, or perhaps slightly later. Of course, this is still just an estimate on the release timing.
Despite some rumors that the second wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tracks are coming any day now, there has been no update from Nintendo. A 7-11 ad in Japan shows that the number of courses in Mario Kart will be “doubled” but there has not been any confirmation that the second wave of DLC tracks are on their way despite some people believing they could come as soon as July 17.
It’s expected that each wave will be released about four months apart from each other, meaning this could be the possible pattern for the Booster Course DLC drops:
Wave 3: November/December 2022
Wave 4: March/April 2023
Wave 5: July/August 2023
Wave 6: November/December 2023
