GTA 5 was released in 2013, and since then, the game has announced multiple re-releases. The latest is known as GTA 5 Expanded and Enhanced, a version that is not as new as many expect.
GTA 5 originally came out for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the latest consoles at the time. With the release of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, GTA 5 put out a new version of the game. This version improved the visual experience for players in their new consoles, but the game remained the same.
GTA 5 Expanded and Enhanced follow the same principle. It is a visually improved version of the game, designed to perform at the highest level on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. In order to get the most out of this version, players will need a TV or monitor with 4K graphics and 60 frames-per-second capabilities.
In terms of content, the game remains the same. The game doesn’t come with new storylines or new quests. A better way to describe this version would be GTA 5 Remastered. Rockstar Games has the habit of giving misleading names to their remastered versions. One clear example is GTA Vice City The Definitive Edition, which is just the original GTA Vice City game with better graphics.
If players are buying this version in hopes of getting new content, then it’s not worth it. The game is still the same, and having the gold version should be enough. If players want to get the best graphics possible, then it is worth the buy, but only if they have the screen for it.
The only way to truly appreciate the visual enhancements in the game is by having a top-of-the-line screen. If that is not the case, then the regular version will do.
