An Amazon slip-up brings good tidings to all Harry Potter fans still waiting for their acceptance letters. The Hogwarts Legacy release date may potentially have been leaked. 

After dropping a string of teasers and a magical 14-minute long State of Play video, Hogwarts Legacy has gone silent. No significant details on the game since the trailer in March. Consequently, the hype around Hogwarts Legacy had weakened but a new leak has players back on their toes. 

The slip-up comes from Amazon UK, where the site changed the placeholder date, potentially revealing the release of Hogwarts Legacy. It could be a fluke, but players are hopeful that the game may come soon. 

When is Hogwarts Legacy release date? 

According to Amazon UK, Hogwarts Legacy is coming on December 6, 2022.

The developer has not given an exact release date, but The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy: Exploring the Unwritten Wizarding World had December 31 as a placeholder window on Amazon UK. However, fans noticed that the site had changed the date to December 6. 

Hogwarts Legacy was initially announced for 2021, but some internal hiccups have pushed the game to 2022. The exact release date is still unknown, but the publisher was actively pushing out sneak peeks and content to build anticipation. A recent break had led the fans to think that Hogwarts Legacy may not come anytime soon. 

Placeholder dates are often set at the end of the month or year so people can pre-order the product. Previously, the art book was set on December 31, which is standard. However, players noted that the date had been changed to December 6, causing a frenzy among the Potterheads. The listing quickly returned to the previous window, confirming player suspicions.

December 6 could be the perfect date for Hogwarts Legacy as it was expected to be released during the holiday season.
