Three profitable esports teams to bet on in 2021 and beyond

We’ve created a list of three potentially profitable esports teams to bet on in 2021. We haven’t just picked the best teams, we’ve selected three squads that are bound to have good odds, as well as a solid chance of performing well. That means you may get a solid return on your investment without having to take big risks.

FunPlus Phoenix (#6) – League of Legends

FunPlus has lost only one of their last six matches, beating LNG Esports, Invictus Gaming and eStar Gaming in their last three.

After finishing third in the 2020 LPL Spring Split and taking the 2019 League of Legends World Championship, FunPlus Phoenix has shown that it is capable of going all the way on the world’s biggest stages.

The #6 ranking is sure to make some bookmakers price their odds higher than they ought to be and FunPlus is always a solid choice for a tournament win or upset victory.

Ninjas in Pajamas (#18) – Counter Strike: Global Offensive

Following a shock triumph over Astralis in the BLAST Premier Spring group stages, NiP is a top bet for any CSGO-minded esports punters.

NiP won the match in two maps, with much of the credit going to rifler Tim “nawwk” Jonasson and 17-year-old rookie Erik “ztr” Gustafsson.

Though currently ranked #18 in the world, NiP remains a strong team with a 20-year history and a bright future, which means their odds will likely always be high enough to return a solid profit on most betting markets.

Team Aster (#3) – Dota 2

With a 100% win record in 2021, which includes a 2-0 victory over Elephant and a defeat of PSG LGD, Team Aster is one of the hottest teams in Dota 2 right now.

Though they have never won a major, Team Aster has a solid history of success, winning the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3, coming second in the China Dota2 ProCup Season 2, and finishing third in the DPL-CDA Professional League Season 2.

Team Aster has everything it needs to take a major in 2021, and they are likely to have high odds for a tournament winner or top-three bet.

The future of esports betting

The esports betting industry is one of the fastest growing sports betting markets in the world. In fact, H2 Gaming Capital predicts that by 2024 the esports betting market will be worth $862M USD.

Yet esports betting is still restricted in many parts of the world, so as US states continue to legalize sports betting and countries such as France begin to loosen their restrictions on esports betting, we are likely to see an acceleration in this predicted growth.

The number of esports you can bet on now is also growing with big games including WoW, WoT and War Thunder becoming increasingly popular for esports punters.

There’s also been a rise in platforms promoting the best esports betting sites to place your bets, such as My Betting Sites and others.
