Outlast scary game

Halloween is coming, and if you want to spend some time scaring yourself with scream-worthy enemies and intense atmospheres that leave you sweating, here are the games to play while you’re alone in the dark eating candy.

Here is our list of scariest horror games to play this Halloween.

Dead Space

This game keeps players on their toes with horrifically designed creatures that appear when you least expect it. What adds to the intensity of the face-off is the dismemberment required to take them down. Sometimes, they will even adapt to losing a limb and start dragging themselves toward you as you run around a dark, abandoned spaceship.

Clock Tower

The original Clock Tower game follows an orphan who has been adopted, but the should-be happy situation turns to things of nightmares when an evil entity known as the Scissorman kills one of her adopted sisters. The psychological terrors that follow create an endless amount of chills and anxiety as you unravel the story.

Five Nights at Freddy’s

A favorite with streamers, this indie survival horror game is about a pizza restaurant called Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza with very creepy animatronic animals that play music and, well, want to kill you. You play as a security guard who has to hide from the animatronics as they track you around the building using sound and security cameras. You’ll feel paranoid as you attempt to hide from the suddenly appearing monsters.

Silent Hill 2

Set in the town of Silent Hill, you will find yourself running away from a wide range of disturbing enemies as you make your way around the town in an attempt to complete a compelling storyline. This game messes with your mind and will leave you afraid of turning corners.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

This tricky game forces you to face risky scenarios since you have a sanity meter that fills up when you look at horrifying images or stay in the darkness — which is pretty ironic since you will feel very, very crazy as you get chased around in the dark by terrifying monsters. This game is definitely not for everyone, and you have to be brave definitely.

Outlast

This game is most definitely one of the scariest horror games of all time, making it the best game to play during the Halloween season. You will control a journalist who is investigating some reportedly disturbing events at a remote psychiatric hospital. You will feel completely immersed in this scary setting since you’ll be crawling around dirty floors, hiding under blood-stained beds, and anything else it takes to hide from the horrifying monsters that are hunting you down.
