Teamfight Tactics is adding four new champions and the new Hextech origin.

Camille, Jayce, Vi, and Jinx are joining the Teamfight Tactics ranks as Hextech units. The breakpoints for the Hextech origin are two and four, and these units can disable two and four random items on the enemy’s board at the start of combat.

It’s common for players to stack most of their items into one or two units, using the rest of their champions to protect their hyper carries. This strategy will be useless versus the Hextech units that will target any champion with items.

The new Hextech champions

Listed below is all that is currently known about the four new champions, including their classes, abilities, and champion tier.

Camille

  • Class: Blademaster
  • Ability: Hextech Ultimatum – Camille roots and damages her current auto-attack target. Camille’s abilities that can attack that target will switch to their current target to do so.
  • Tier: 1

Jayce

  • Class: Shapeshifter
  • Ability: Thundering Blow and Transform Mercury Cannon – Knocks back his target then change to ranged attacks, gaining max attack speed for a few attacks.
  • Tier: 2

Vi

  • Class: Brawler
  • Ability: Assault and Battery – Vi targets the furthest enemy and launches towards them, knocking aside everyone else while knocking up and dealing damage on impact to her target.
  • Tier: 3

Jinx

  • Class: Gunslinger
  • Ability: Get Excited – Jinx gets more excited as she scores takedowns. After her first, she gains attacked speed. After her second, she pulls out Fishbones for AoE damage on Autos.
  • Tier: 4

Vi confirms our previous report that a new Brawler was coming to Teamfight Tactics. In Patch 9.15, the breakpoint for Brawlers changed to two, four, and six at which point the units get 1,200 HP.

Jinx is already looking to be a deadly potential hyper carry with an ability that could dramatically snowball once she’s able to get multiple kills. As is the case with Jinx on Summoner’s Rift, she’ll need protection in order to be used most effectively.

The Hextech units provide multiple options to access the backline, single out enemies, and break up the frontline. The new champions are available on the PBE server right now and are expected to arrive with patch 9.16, which is scheduled for August 14.
