The Game Awards 2022 had the most video game world premiers in the nine-year history of the prestigious video game award show. One of the surprise premiers was for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

The moody trailer debuted at The Game Awards 2022, starting with Batman standing in the shadows. Members of the Suicide Squad walk into the building, clearly on edge after committing some acts of violence. Captain Boomerang is even seen attempting to murder Flash.

But when someone runs in and is then shot down, the Suicide Squad becomes even more antsy, knowing Batman is near. Harley Quinn nervously points out that Batman doesn’t murder people, but then another body drops from the top floor.

When Batman finally appears, he states: “I am vengeance. I am the night. I am Batman!”

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League features voice of Kevin Conroy

Immediately, fans in the audience recognized the voice as that of Kevin Conroy, the iconic voice behind Batman in the 1990s Batman: The Animated Series and Rocksteady’s Arkham video game series. He was Batman for three decades. The beloved Batman voice actor passed away last month at the age of 66. But his voice will live on in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

When is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League coming out?

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has a planned release date of May 26, 2023.

Rocksteady’s highly anticipated DC game has faced several delays. An original trailer was released two years ago at the DC FanDome event. Fans were blown away by the animation, especially when Harley Quinn can be seen staring in shock when Superman uses his laser beams to kill an innocent pilot. But developers were overall silent since then.

What will Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League be about?

Suicide Squad is a team of villains and anti-heroes from DC. Harley Quinn, King Shark, Boomerang, and Deadshot will be starring in the video game. The surprising squad will have to work together to stop an alien invader called Brainiac from destroying Metropolis. Members of the Justice League, like Superman and Batman, have been brainwashed by Brainiac, which explains their uncharacteristically violent behavior in the two trailers.

What will Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League gameplay be like?

Rocksteady has shared a little bit of what gamers can expect while playing Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. According to developers, players will be able to pick from one of our Suicide Squad members who all have their own distinct playstyle and abilities. They can switch between villains throughout each mission. Players can bring up to three friends since the game has co-op capabilities, and any character not selected will be controlled by AI. This means gamers should expect a lot of strategy and teamwork to get things done.
