A Starfield leaker known as Tyrone has been arrested.

Recently, 40 minutes of gameplay footage from Starfield was leaked online ahead of the game’s highly anticipated release. The leak went viral, although many gamers were disappointed to see so much of the game spoiled ahead of time.

Starfield has been the victim of a lot of leaks the past few months. The story, skill tree, and other elements were revealed earlier than developers hoped. The latest leak, however, was one of the most severe.

Who is Tyrone, the Starfield leaker?

Darin Tyrone Harris, known as DHavenShadow on YouTube, was charged with property theft after he leaked footage online. According to the police report, Harris stole copies of the game from his workplace to do so.

Despite posting a review on his account where he praised the game, Harris was charged with theft of property $1,000 or less, theft of property $2,500-$10,000, and possession of marijuana.

A lot of gamers were surprised by Harris’ actions, wondering why he revealed his full name and face on his Starfield review despite knowing he had done something illegal.

“Personally if I was stealing thousands of dollars from my workplace I would try to not associate the theft of one of the most hyped games of the year with my full name and face but that’s just me,” one Reddit user said.

Another pointed out that Harris was also easily linked to other strange online behavior, including a Mercari store where he was actually selling the stolen copies of Starfield among other illegal items.

Said one gamer: “Holy f—, that’s dumb. Seventy copies of Just Dance 2022 for like $550 and 15 separate copies of Starfield each for like $220 plus all the other random crap like Milwaukee tools BNIB. This guy wasn’t even remotely trying to hide it.”

While the arrest was for stealing the games, it’s unclear if Bethesda or Microsoft will pursue further charges and lawsuits over the damage done by leaking the game early.
