Snoop Dogg gives angry interview after Madden NFL esports loss
When esports teams lose an important match, sometimes the players will get a little emotional in the post-game interview. Other times they will refuse an interview altogether. But rapper Snoop Dogg decided to go a completely different route when a reporter attempted to speak with him after a devastating loss in Madden NFL.
Snoop Dogg formed his own Madden league back in March. Known as the Gangsta Gaming League, the west coast rapper would compete with his friends in matches in a tournament worth a few thousand dollars.
Out of the six tournaments held by the Gangsta Gaming League, Snoop Dogg has won four. But it wasn’t his skill that garnered him his most recent attention. It was actually his reaction to losing in a tournament earlier this week.
Interviewer Kara Corvus approached Snoop after the match to find out how he was feeling after taking the L and he didn’t take kindly to being asked such a question.
“How the fuck you think I feel?” Snoop exclaimed, calling it a “dumbass question.” Then, in a mock sing-songy tone, he said, “Oh, I feel amazing. We took a loss.”
Corvus seemed taken aback by the outburst, but she couldn’t help but laugh at the explosive response to her simple question.
“I feel like shit right now. We fucking lost. We were supposed to win. We were better than that. They got us. They outcoached us. They outplayed us. But we are gonna take our L like we take our Ws. We’re not gonna be sore losers. We wish them good luck. Much success. It’s just heartbreaking when you know you coulda, woulda, shoulda,” Snoop said.
Snoop Dogg then assured the interviewer that his team “would be back.”
The poor interviewer attempted to ask a follow up question and was cut off by Snoop Dogg once again.
“Who do you think will take the victory?” Corvus tried asking.
“I don’t know. I don’t give a fuck. Stop asking all these dumbass questions. Yeah, we lost. Now be gone!” Snoop yelled, waving around a joint.
On
Reddit, many people commended the interviewers ability to stay cool and “laugh off” Snoop Dogg’s antics. Corvus even shared the
interview
from a behind-the-scenes angle on her own Twitch channel.
Snoop Dogg is no stranger to esports. In April, Snoop organized his own Mortal Kombat 11
tournament. Rappers and Playboy models competed in matches that were aired live on Twitch.
Snoop Dogg appeared just as salty at his loss in Mortal Kombat as he was after his Madden L. When one of the models showed him up in the game, Snoop Dogg claimed he had “let her win.” Still, it appeared to be a good time had by all the participants and viewers, who marveled at the amount of smoke wafting around the room as the rappers discussed the new Mortal Kombat title.
