Slasher explains silence over Dr Disrespect ban, YouTube rumor

Since his permanent ban from Twitch, popular streamer Herschel “Dr Disrespect” Beahm has been eerily silent.

The streaming community is currently refreshing relevant web pages and Twitter feeds hourly to see if they’ll ever find out why the Two-Time was so suddenly booted from the broadcasting platform. He said on Twitter that Twitch has yet to inform him as to why he was banned and then later made a possible appearance on a friend’s stream to say that he was a “scapegoat” for Twitch.

Champions Club,

Twitch has not notified me on the specific reason behind their decision… Firm handshakes to all for the support during this difficult time.

But that’s been it from the usually outspoken streamer.

While Twitch has yet to make a statement explaining their shocking decision, some Twitch employees and esports industry insiders have hinted that they may know why Dr Disrespect was banned. And they say it isn’t good. But so far, none of them have come forward with the supposedly sensitive story.

Rod “Slasher” Breslau was one of the first to come forward with the news of Dr Disrespect’s ban. He also was quick to shut down rumors that it was related to Twitch’s recent copyright strike bombardment. While Slasher hinted that he knew why Dr Disrespect was banned, he hasn’t come forward with the actual reason.

On a recent stream hosted by HasanAbi, Slasher decided to give a bit of insight as to his involvement with the ongoing mystery of Dr Disrespect’s ban.

will be going on hasan’s stream shortly to talk a bit about trumps twitch suspension and the process of covering this drdisrespect story to try and give you folks some insight https://t.co/2Kofao498p

“I don’t want to put it personally on Twitter and I do need a publication to back me. But this requires indemnity that I want and has been rather difficult to acquire and that means that I get legal protection from the outlet that I publish for from whatever would happen afterward,” Slasher told HasanAbi.

He then mentioned that he was avoiding a potential defamation lawsuit. This means that the reason Dr Disrespect was banned is quite possibly serious and that it wasn’t just due to a change of platforms, if Slasher is to be believed.

Dr Disrespect may be moving to YouTube

Dr Disrespect may be eyeing YouTube after his permanent ban from Twitch.

Despite having no recent activity on his Twitter, Dr Disrespect recently changed his bio on the social media platform. Where he once had a link to Twitch, Dr Disrespect now has a link to his YouTube channel.

I was just informed that @drdisrespect has JUST changed his Twitch profile link to his YouTube one on twitter.

I don’t have a screenshot of before the change so I’m not able to confirm.

Does anyone else have one to validate this? pic.twitter.com/v4JaAvR3sh

This doesn’t outright prove that Dr Disrespect is moving to YouTube. It could just be his way of removing Twitch from his other social media channels after the ban. But it does seem to confirm that the ban is permanent.

The streaming community is still skeptical that Slasher has any juicy details regarding Dr Disrespect’s absence. If the Two-Time is to be believed, he himself remains uncertain why Twitch targeted him. But this doesn’t correspond very well with Twitch and esports insiders stating that the reason being his permanent ban is so serious. With no one yet coming forward with information, it seems anything is possible.
